The Hampshire House Wedding Videographer :: Boston, MA :: Jenn and Ed (Part I - Sneak Peak)

We’re still on a high from shooting Jenn and Ed’s wedding over the weekend!  From the elegant Hampshire House where they held their ceremony and reception to the majestic Boston Common where we captured some amazing footage of their "first look" session, we are still in awe of how stunning this newlywed couple looks in every single shot!

So while we’re still going through the hours and hours of footage from their wedding day, we thought we’d stop and share a few of our favorite “freeze frames” from their wedding ceremony.  Love those smiles!

Congrats to Jenn, Ed, and their adorable son Erik..... more to come soon!

So until the warm weather is back (and I can leave my winter coat at home), here are two wedding recap films from last summer to keep you nice and warm!

Enjoy!

Preparations at The Langham Hotel (Boston, MA).  Ceremony and reception at The State Room (Boston, MA):

The Dance Organization of Boston College Theatrical Videographer :: Chestnut Hill, MA :: "Reign"

When we're not working with wedding couples, we're usually heavily involved with the theater community in and around Boston.  On January 31, 2014, we had the pleasure of working with The Dance Organization of Boston College in capturing their 2014 production titled "Reign".  What an amazing performance featuring some of Boston College's finest jazz, Latin, hip-hop, ballet, tap, and modern dancers.

Here's a sneak peak of their upcoming film.  Congrats to the cast and crew of DOBC's "Reign"!

Granite Links Golf Club Wedding Videographer :: Quincy, MA :: Despena and Constantinos (Part II - Wedding Feature Film)

"Family."

That's the answer Despena and Constantinos gave me when I asked them if their wedding had a special theme.  "Our families are very important to both of us, and we want to make sure you capture as much of our families as possible throughout our wedding film," Despena told me when I met with them several weeks before their wedding.  And sure enough, I got to experience first-hand  just how large a role this newly wed's friends and families played throughout their entire wedding day.  But let's back-up a bit and do this story justice!

Neeta and I started our day at Despena's parents house.  From the moment we entered their home, we were greeted with utmost respect and courtesy, almost as if we were part of their "family".  I started with coverage of Despena's mother getting her hair and make-up done, while Neeta started with some detail shots inside and outside the house.  When Despena made her way downstairs, we focused our attention to her putting on jewelry in front of a large mirror.  Neeta happened to catch an amazingly precious moment of Despena's and Constantinos' fathers singing a beautiful song in Greek (truly touching moment... one of our favorites!!) in the kitchen.  Umm..... talk about great timing!!

We then hurried over to Saint John the Baptist Hellenic Orthodox Church and setup our cameras and microphones.  We knew that two priests would be officiating the ceremony, so we setup both of them with a wireless lav microphone (hidden under their ceremonial robes).  Seeing Constantinos' face light up with smiles upon seeing Despena walk down the aisle just warms our hearts.  We love seeing Despena and Constantinos beam with happiness as they have their Greek ceremonial blessings bestowed upon them.

But unlike most weddings we've covered, this wedding had a special ceremonial piece AFTER the wedding ceremony had completed.  You see, as soon as their wedding ceremony ended, they went straight to the baptism of their adorable son Demetrios.  What a happy baby!  We love how his relatives gave him a Canon lens cap to keep him distracted.... perhaps he'll be a wedding filmmaker someday!

And what a magnificent sunset at Granite Links Golf Club later that day.  Despena, Charlie, Demetrios and their friends and family danced the night away to the sounds of traditional Greek wedding music performed by Orfeas Greek Band.  In many ways, we felt like we got to be part of Despena and Constantinos' families that day, and it was truly a memorable experience.

Special thanks to Areti Bratsis Photograper for sharing a few of her amazing still images with us.  If you're looking for a really great wedding photographer, you must check her out.  We loved working with Areti and hope our paths cross again soon.

So without further delay, we give you their wedding feature film.  Congratulations to Despena, Constantinos, and Demetrios on their very special day.

Granite Links Golf Club Wedding Videographer :: Quincy, MA :: Despena and Constantinos (Part I - Wedding Trailer Film)

What do you get when you combine two ceremonies in a single day?  You get a ton of amazing footage... that's what you get!  No, I'm not talking about two different wedding couples on a single day.  I'm talking about Dianne and Charlie's combined wedding and baptism, and the celebratory reception following both ceremonies!

We're still working on putting the final touches on their wedding film, but in case you want to see a sneak-peek into their fun-filled day, here's a short wedding trailer film to hold you over.  More to come soon!

Blue Ocean Music Hall at The Pavilion Wedding Videographer :: Salisbury Beach, MA :: Jodi and Mario (Part II - Introductions and First Dance)

There's just something about Jodi and Mario's beautiful smiles that make you want to smile, too.  You can't help but smile yourself when watching this happy couple get introduced at the Blue Ocean Music Hall for the very first time as husband and wife.  I love how Jodi and Mario sing along to their first dance song as they gaze at each other so lovingly.  Just precious!

To make sure we captured their first dance seamlessly, we positioned ourselves creatively on the dance floor.  I covered close-ups using a long zoom lens from one side of the dance floor, while Neeta covered guest reaction shots with a super wide-angle lens from an opposite end of the dance floor.  This allowed us to make sure we covered as much of the action as possible (and from different vantage points).

And speaking of happy moments, if you haven't seen their wedding vows (which they wrote themselves) make sure you check it out here.

We simply love this first dance piece and can't wait to show you more of their wedding day.  Coming soon.... Jodi and Mario's wedding recap film!

Melia Caribe Tropical Wedding Videographer :: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic :: Pamela and Matthew (Wedding Recap Film)

Pamela and Matthew were married on October 6, 2012 in the tropical Dominican Republic.  When they contacted me to edit the raw footage from their Caribbean destination wedding into a wedding recap film several weeks ago, I was excited to be working with this couple and concerned about editing footage shot by another wedding professional.  But my worries were quickly put to rest when Matthew shared a few of the camera files with me and I was able to view the quality of the footage.  Thanks to the skilled work of Milan Vasovic (who shoots in the Dominican Republic), creating a heartwarming story about Pamela and Matthew's wedding day was a true joy.

I love the excitement in seeing Matthew and his groomsmen sharing a few laughs during preparations, and how Pamela is swept with emotion when opening a wedding day gift from Matthew.  And let's not forget all the fun dancing at the Melia Caribe Tropical Beach and Resort complete with light-up party sunglasses!

So without further delay, let's get to their wedding recap film.  Congratulations to Pamela and Matthew on their beautiful wedding!

St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Wedding Videographer :: Portsmouth, NH :: Maria and Dionisios (Part II - Wedding Feature Film)

We love capturing the bride and groom as they get ready for their wedding day.  This is the only part of the day where the couple won't know what the other person is doing until they see their wedding film.  So while reliving the wedding day festivities through the wedding film is exciting, being able to see a part of the day that wasn't possible to be experienced first-hand is truly fascinating!

Neeta and I started the morning of August 24, 2013 with shots of Dionisios' preparations (including the Greek traditional shaving of the groom's face).  As soon as we wrapped up with Dionisios, we hopped into our car and headed to visit Maria as she prepared with her friends and family.  We can't help but smile when hearing Maria recant the story of how Dionisios accidentally stumbled across a picture of her wedding dress on her phone!  And we're touched by Dionisios' thoughtfulness in sending a stunning flower arrangement to his wife-to-be as a way of telling her how excited he was to be marrying her.

Along the way, we got to meet Arya (the couple's adorable Alaskan Klee Kai) who was so excited to greet all the family members at Dionisios' home.  And we got to meet all the great family and friends that were on hand to celebrate with the happy couple.

Are you ready to experience Maria and Dionisios' amazing wedding?  We knew ahead of time that there would be several surprises throughout the day, but we were still wow'ed by the level of detail that went into planning their special day.  From the ornate orthodox Greek ceremony at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church to the  lavish reception at Black Swan Country Club (featuring celebrity guest vocalist Efi Thodi who flew in from Greece just hours before), you're in for a treat.  And speaking of treats, don't forget the dessert station featuring heart-shaped Boston Kreme donuts courtesy of Dunkin Donuts (mmmm!) along with two of the nicest Dunkin Donuts team members we've ever met!  Special thanks to the fun-loving and inspiring team at Nicole Chan Photography for sharing some of their stunning photography with us (and if you're looking for a great photographer.... you must check out her work... truly beautiful)!

Maria and Dionisios' wedding feature film highlights the best moments of their wedding day and allows you to relive (or experience for the first time) all the excitement through our lenses.  This is surely one wedding we will not forget and we wish the newlyweds a beautiful future together.  "Singariteeria" (congratulations) to Maria and Dionisios!

Blue Ocean Music Hall at The Pavilion Wedding Videographer :: Salisbury Beach, MA :: Jodi and Mario (Part I - Wedding Vows)

We simply love it when couples write their own vows.  They're heartfelt, personal, and full of love.  They tell a story about the couple -- a story that goes back to how they first met, how they got engaged, and how they got to their wedding day.  And because we try to tell a memorable story about each and every wedding couple through our wedding films.... well this just makes our jobs that much easier and more fun!

But enough about us.  Let's turn our attention to Jodi, Mario, and their chic wedding at the Blue Ocean Music Hall at The Pavilion in Salisbury Beach, MA.  When I first met with this adorable couple a few months before their wedding, I knew they'd be a fun couple.  Jodi and Mario have such a strong connection, it shows through their deep understanding of what each other is thinking at any given moment.  So naturally, on the morning of their wedding on September 21, 2013, it was obvious they couldn't wait to hear the vows they had written for each other.

Neeta and I are still working through all the footage from their special day, but we just couldn't help and share this clip from their wedding vow exchanges.  Their words tell so much about who they are and how much they love each other (and we love the little jokes that they intersperse throughout)!  We love the ear-to-ear smiles on their faces and how they are moved to tears when reading their vows to each other.  There's more to come, but we hope you enjoy this short clip as much as we do!

Congrats to Jodi and Mario!

Black Swan Country Club Wedding Videographer :: Georgetown, MA :: Maria and Dionisios (Part I - Wedding Party Introductions and First Dance)

What makes Maria and Dionisios' wedding on August 24, 2013 so awesome?  Could it be all the fun-loving family and friends who helped the couple celebrate late into the night?  Or perhaps it's all the hard work and planning that the couple put into designing their special day.  Maybe it's the celebrity guest performer who made a dramatic entrance during the reception (more on that later)!  So which one is it?  You got it, all of the above.  And we think that seeing just how happy Maria and Dionisios are to be getting married and having their friends and family there to support them played a large role, too!

We’re still working on the edit for their feature film, but we thought it would be nice to share a brief glimpse into their wedding reception at Black Swan Country Club (Georgetown, MA).  This clip is taken from their wedding party introductions and first dance.  We love how all the guests are cheering and smiling at Maria and Dionisios as they get introduced for the first time as husband and wife.  And we love how the happy couple basks in the warmth of the guests’ company during their first dance.  It truly is touching to see them gave at each other with ear-to-ear smiles.

More to come soon!

Spring Valley Country Club Wedding Videographer :: Sharon, MA :: Karen and Adam (Part II - Wedding Recap Film)

Things we love about Karen and Adam’s wedding.  (1) Awesome venue… Spring Valley Country Club is just beautiful! (2) Great DJ…. Greg Gates kept the dance floor moving the entire night.  (3) Oh yeah, did I mention Karen and Adam, one of the happiest couples we’ve met in quite a while?  When I met with Karen and Adam to discuss their wedding details several months before the wedding, their smiles and laughter said it all; it would be a fun wedding!  When asked if there would be a theme, Karen quickly told me “simple, but pretty”!  Perhaps that's what they were going for, but I'd call their wedding more along the lines of "stunning and elegant"!  Take a look at their wedding recap film below, and you'll get a sneak peak of their amazing day!

Neeta and I started our day with getting some preparation shots of Karen and Adam.  They each had their own dressing rooms at Spring Valley Country Club so we bounced back and forth to get shots at different stages of the prep.  One of our favorite shots from prep is Karen admiring her wedding dress in a full-length mirror.  And let’s not forget about Adam’s father Neal (who was the best man) adjusting Adam’s tie and then giving him a playful slap on the face!  Both shots are priceless!

Then we prepared for the “first look”, where the couple gets to “see” each other for the first time.  This is done ahead of the ceremony, and gives the couple a chance to spend a few minutes together to bask in the moment.  We love the “first look” as it lends itself easily to taking formal portraits with the wedding party before the ceremony.  This means they are free to enjoy cocktail hour and spend time with family and friends.  During their “first look”, Neeta and I were positioned on opposite ends of a golf course to get a variety of shots.  We love the look of excitement on Karen’s face as I follow her walking toward Adam on Steadicam.  You can almost feel the anticipation on Adam’s face as Karen taps him on his shoulder, signaling him to turn around!  Special thanks to Douglas Levy for sharing a few of his breathtaking portraits to be used in our wedding film.  Seriously, check out his work... you'll be amazed, too!

So without further delay, here's the world premier of Karen and Adam's wedding recap film.  You can't help but smile yourself when you see just how happy they are to be getting married!  Mazel tov to Karen and Adam (and Bruce, their adorable puppy) on their beautiful wedding!

The State Room Wedding Videographer :: Boston, MA :: Tatiana and Michael (Part II - Wedding Recap Film)

There are so many things we love about Tatiana and Michael's wedding.  The stunning panoramic views of the Boston skyline from the top of the State Room Boston, the romantic "first look" session outside the Langham Hotel Boston, and of course, let's not forget about the amazing couple.  You can almost feel the energy and excitement as you watch Tatiana and Michael perform their first dance and bask in the moment of being married.

We love it when the wedding invitation reads "black tie optional".... we know we're in for some stunning shots of the wedding party and guests all decked out and ready to celebrate.  And their wedding was certainly a night to remember.  Performances by a sultry jazz trio during cocktail hour, crystal accents on the backs of chairs, and the incomparable 8-piece Stardust Band to keep the dance floor rocking out.

Thanks to Bior of the State Room Boston for coordinating all the activities and keeping us informed of when key moments (such as the cake cutting and Tatiana's heartfelt dedication of her bouquet to her mother) were about to take place.  Bior was instrumental in keeping me and Neeta up-to-speed on what we should expect through the night.

Special thanks to Andrea Servidone of Servidone Studios Photography for sharing some of her breathtaking photos with us.  She's a great photographer and we loved working with her.  We bonded with Andrea when we were setting up to capture Tatiana during her hair and make-up session.... what did we bond over, you might ask?  The fact that we both shoot with Canon 5D cameras for a dramatic cinematic look!

Now, without further delay, we share with you Tatiana and Michael's wedding recap film.  Neeta and I had a wonderful time working with this fun-loving couple, and we wish them a beautiful life together!  Congratulations!

Spring Valley Country Club Wedding Videographer :: Sharon, MA :: Karen and Adam (Part I - Ring Exchange)

There’s something quite endearing about the smiles on the faces of Karen and Adam.  You can’t help but smile yourself when you see just how happy this couple truly is on their wedding day.

I met Karen and Adam back in February 2013.  At our first meeting, I could tell they were going to be a fun couple (and yes, I was right)!  They spoke with so much passion about their wedding day plans, their venue, and all the little details that would go into their wedding day.  I knew it was going to be a busy day, but I had no doubt it would be a spectacular day thanks to all their hard work.

Fast-forward to July 12, 2013… their big day.  Neeta and I arrived at Spring Valley Country Club ahead of our scheduled arrival time (thank goodness for smooth sailing on I-95!) so we stopped to get some footage of the expansive golf greens prior to making our way inside the country club.  What an amazing venue!  From the soaring wood beams of the cathedral-like ceiling to the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the perimeter of the building, there are just so many beautiful details that went into designing this venue.

We’re HUGE fans of shooting in as much natural light as possible, and their wedding ceremony was about as perfect as we can get in terms of natural lighting.  I love the way the sunlight gently illuminates Karen and Adam’s faces as they recite their wedding vows in Hebrew and in English.  Special thanks to Rabbi David Kudan for the beautiful ceremony.  And if you’re looking for a great photographer, you should definitely check out Douglas Levy Photography.  Neeta and I were thrilled that both Rabbi Kudan and Douglas were so easy to work with and highly professional.  It certainly made our day that much more fun!  Seriously, check out Douglas’ work…. In a word… impressive!

This short clip is a "teaser" of the full wedding recap film that will be coming soon.  Until then, enjoy a brief glimpse into their wedding ceremony.  Congratulations to Karen and Adam on their beautiful wedding!

The State Room: A Longwood Venue Wedding Videographer :: Boston, MA :: Tatiana and Michael (Part I - Ring Exchange)

On June 15, 2013, we had the pleasure of working with Tatiana and Michael on their amazing wedding day.  During our previous meetings, Tatiana and Michael had mentioned that their wedding would be a formal affair with a strong emphasis on “Boston”.  And what says “Boston” more than having your wedding overlook Boston Harbor and the city from the top floor of the chic State Room!

We captured countless hours of great footage, but we thought we’d start off with Tatiana and Michael’s ring exchange.  Neeta and I positioned ourselves at the front of the ceremony so we could get some really great shots of the happy couple with audience members in the background.  But we made sure to keep ourselves discreet to give all the attention to Tatiana and Michael.  There’s something quite special about this couple and you can’t help but smile yourself when you see how happy they look to be reciting their vows and exchanging rings.  Congratulations to Tatiana and Michael!

More to come soon.  Enjoy this clip!

Here is a picture of our award!

And here is the wedding recap film that earned us our award!  This is from Shannon and Michael's wedding (August 2012) at the Biltmore Hotel in Providence, RI.  We had a great time at their wedding, and we're thrilled to have been selected for this prestigious filmmaking award!

The Hampshire House Wedding Videographer :: Boston, MA :: Jennifer and Greg (Part III - Wedding Recap)

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for.... the wedding recap featuring Jennifer and Greg!  It's been wonderful working with such a fun-loving and happy couple, and I'm going to miss seeing their wedding footage in the editing suite on a daily basis.  If you've missed the other posts (and videos) from their wedding, be sure to check them out below.

You can see their first dance and parent dances at the Hampshire House (Boston, MA) here:

And click below to see their wedding vows at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish (Brookline, MA):
http://www.truefocusfilms.blogspot.com/2013/01/st-mary-of-assumption-wedding.html

One of the hardest parts about creating a wedding recap is picking the right moments from the wedding day and then arranging the footage, audio, and music to tell a story about the couple.  There are countless hours of raw footage that we captured, and you'll have to take my word for it... Jennifer and Greg look stunning in pretty much all the footage we captured!  That made my editing job even harder (but that's a good thing)!  Their happy smiles are genuine, full of love... and you can't help but smile yourself when watching this recap!

I can't thank Megan Dupuis from Perspectives Photography enough for her amazing work.  If you're looking for an extremely talented wedding photographer who is easy to work with, Megan should definitely be on your short list.  She knows how to capture natural emotion and makes couples feel comfortable in front of the lens.  Kudos!

So congratulations to Jennifer and Greg.  We wish you a bright and happy future together.  And now, their wedding recap!
