Why True Focus Films
THE TRUE FOCUS STYLE

True Focus Films is Boston's premier wedding-film production team. With a fresh and modern approach to filmmaking, we capture your day unobtrusively and create a unique cinematic masterpiece. Each film we create is a unique piece of work and we work directly with the bride and groom to better understand their particular needs. We pride ourselves on our "cinematic" approach to preserving the wedding day. Emotional close-ups, dramatic wide-angle shots, and creative camera placement are just a few of the techniques we use to tell a compelling story of your wedding day. Our primary footage is shot on Canon DSLR cameras, but we also use a variety of other professional-grade cameras throughout the day. We shoot all our wedding films in full HD quality (1080p24) for the sharpest quality that will look stunning on your HDTV. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and update you throughout the entire process. It's your event, and our goal is to create a wedding film that you will be proud to share with friends and family.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

In March 2013, True Focus Films was awarded the New England Professional Videographers Association (NPVA) Vista Award for filmmaking excellence in the category of wedding highlights. And in 2010, we were honored by theknot.com in the "Best of Weddings" listing for wedding videographers. We've also won the WeddingWire Brides Choice Award for three consecutive years (2013, 2012, 2011). We are extremely excited and proud to be recognized as a top wedding film company by our peers and our clients!

OUR EXCLUSIVE trueDEMO PROCESS

A key component of every film we produce is the trueDEMO disc that you receive after all the initial editing is complete. The trueDEMO allows you to view your project semi-completed and request changes to the film prior to the final version being delivered. We feel this service is critical to your overall satisfaction of your wedding film. Every couple that we've worked with has enjoyed the trueDEMO disc as it has allowed them to fine-tune their film and provide input into the details. Perhaps the volume is too low at a particular point in the film, or the spelling of onscreen text needs to be changed. With the trueDEMO disc, you get to request changes prior to the final Blu-ray or DVD being delivered. We embed a special "timecode" on the screen so you can pinpoint the places where the changes need to be made. (Don't worry, the timecode won't appear on the final version!) Our customers repeatedly tell us how much they appreciate the trueDEMO process. After all, this is YOUR wedding film to cherish for years to come, and we want to make sure you are completely thrilled with it. We wish there were more stars available to give to True Focus Films. They were fantastic! When we first met Rich & Neeta (the owners of True Focus) they had fresh cookies right out of the oven waiting for us. They made us feel at home though we hadn't even met before. They showed us several examples of videos they had done and went over all of the equipment and sevices available. Rich was so excited to talk about his craft, which is a sign of a great videographer. My husband was not sold on having video when we went into that meeting, but by the end he had changed his mind.
When it came to the wedding day both Rich and Neeta were great, they got a wide variety of shots of the wedding and Rich worked well with my photographer during our couple shots after the ceremony to make sure that both he and my photographer got the best photos/videos of us. At the reception though, I didn't even notice he was there, but when I looked at the video for the first time about 6 weeks after the wedding I was amazed by all the shots he was able to get.
The best part of True Focus' services is definitely the editing process though, which is what truly makes his videos better that any other I had seen. He takes the time to make a story out of your wedding, not just to regurgitate raw footage back to you like may other videographers. He asks for songs you want in your video so you don't get stuck with a song you hate playing in the background of your ceremony or reception. He also lets you make edits to the 1st draft of your video so the final product is exactly what you want.
It was always very easy to get in touch with Rich and he was always friendly and helpful each time we spoke. The services rendered by True Focus were well worth it. We am so happy we have an amazing video to look back at an amazing day.

I can say without a doubt in my mind, that these guys are easily one of the best videographers out there right now.
We were set to receive our video demo on December 24th. When Rich realized how long it would take to ship our video to us, he called me immediately and suggested that we meet in person, so that he could hand deliver our video in time for us to watch it with our family. I just thought that was a step above what most vendors would do.
We received the TrueDemo (which allows us to make our own edits). I thought this was a great touch, becuase it gave us the opportunity to change/edit the pieces we wanted to make it even more special for us.
From the ceremony footage, to the reception section, and the truly amazing 3 minute recap video, that i've already watched 100 times, i can't say enough great things about these guys. Great quality of work, great quality of people, True Focus Films is OUTSTANDING!! Please check them out, you won't regret it!!

Wedding - Katelyn and Damon
We simply could not have chosen a better videographer to capture our wedding day! Believe it or not, we were originally on the fence about hiring a wedding videographer (in an effort to cut costs). When I visited True Focus Film's website, and watched some of their video clips - I realized that these videos captured certain emotions and special moments that photography alone could not. The high quality of the video at True Focus Films, the reasonable pricing, and our first meeting with Richard Kim was what changed our minds... and I am SO GLAD we changed our minds! Richard Kim and his team did a fantastic job creating a DVD that we will cherish forever. Each time we watch it, it's like reliving the best day of our lives all over again. True Focus Films, thank you!!

Wedding - Emily and Travis
Last night [we] watched the demo video and this morning we watched the wedding recap on the blog. You and Neeta did an excellent job. You captured the true essence of Emily and Travis’ wedding. It was a beautiful wedding where everyone enjoyed themselves, especially Emily and Travis. We noticed things on the video that we did not notice as we were hosting the party. We were so focused on the moment that we missed a lot of details. We can’t thank you both enough for your expertise and dedication to making the video as personal as possible.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note of thanks for the wonderful videotape that you did of my daughter’s wedding at the Hyatt in Boston. The whole family sat around on Xmas Eve and laughed and cried together [watching the video]. You did an unbelievable job capturing the love, the fun, the dancing, the sentimental moments and of course, the insanity…..everything.

Given our limited budget, I was hesitant in contracting for videography for our wedding. I am so glad I did. Rich and his company were responsive, accommodating, and professional. The editing was seamless and catered to our particular style. And Rich was so patient with our questions and requests - he made the entire process enjoyable. I highly recommend True Focus Films for weddings and all other special events.

Wedding - Adrienne and Louis
True Focus Films made a HUGE difference in our whole wedding experience. Lou and I had seen Richard and Neeta’s work both as it was happening at our friend’s wedding, as well as the finished product, watching our friend’s video after the event. The recording of the video at the wedding was so much fun for the guests to participate in and the finished DVD was clear and focused and so personalized. The decision to have a videographer was a last minute one after hearing so many times through our married friends that it is something they were so glad they had done. I called Richard a month or so before our wedding and thankfully he had our date available. I was so nervous during our ceremony and had made sure I talked to all of our guests at the reception that I found I missed so much of what was happening. As everyone says your wedding day flashes by. Weeks later when we received the edit DVD, we were so happy to go over the events again and relive our special day. I even cried again watching our ceremony! I knew right then that it was the best decision we made. The editing was so easy and Richard was very accessible through email or phone to answer any questions I had or make a suggestion if I needed advice. The finished DVD's cover and case was thoughtfully done bringing in some details of our wedding through photos and stationary I had given Richard. “Our” songs made each part of the DVD special to us too. I treasure this DVD even more than my photos. I would highly recommend True Focus Films to anyone looking for a great way to capture the moment.

Richard was great to work with for our wedding. From the first time we met him until the DVDs were delivered he was nothing short of excellent. He has a very creative mind and helped us work through what we envisioned for our video. He was virtually invisible during the ceremony and reception, not interfering with the integrity of the event, but capturing the best shots! We would recommend Richard for any event and he is on our speed dial for all of our future video needs. He is a great professional and a pleasure to work with.

Theatrical Performance - "Reefer Madness"
I got the DVD yesterday, and I couldn't be more pleased with how great everything turned out! The visuals were so clear, and I loved having more than one angle all the time. The sound also came out well, as I could hear things that sometimes were hardly audible in person...coming the next night really helped, and I appreciate the hard work you put into it.

FAQ
Why should I hire a professional videographer for my event?
As a videographer, I see it too often. A family member or friend offers to videotape your event, just because they have a camcorder available. But capturing video is a skill and an art, and not something with which you want to take chances on a once-in-a-lifetime event. Most amateur footage is shaky, out of focus, hard to hear, or hard to see from the vantage point of the camera. Professional videographers know what to expect at events, and are prepared to capture all those important moments. While you may save money by asking a friend/relative to carry a camcorder during the event, you may run the risk of being disappointed with the footage. True Focus Films has over 20 years of experience in the event videography business and has delivered beautifully crafted keepsakes to hundreds of satisfied clients.
Aren't still photographs enough to capture my wedding day?
Photographs are a great way of preserving moments, but someday, you may want more than just to relive static moments in your mind. You may want to hear the actual sounds or see the actual events unfold on screen as they did on your special day. That's where videos come in. Videos can immerse you back to the time of the event, and make it feel like it was just yesterday. You can see the people who were there, you can hear what they had to say, and be reminded of the happy emotions that you felt. Our approach to event videography is to capture life at its finest moments, and that's exactly what you'll get from having True Focus Films at your event.
What's the difference between standard DVDs and Blu-ray discs?
For many years, standard definition (SD) DVD discs were the norm for Hollywood movies and professionally produced videos. But with more homes now having high definition (HD) widescreen televisions, a demand for higher resolution and quality images became necessary. Blu-ray discs have a similar appearance to standard DVDs, but hold several times the capacity of standard DVD discs. This is perfect for storing the enormous data required for HD footage. To playback Blu-ray discs, however, you will need a Blu-ray player (Blu-ray cannot be played on standard DVD players). As of this writing, Blu-ray players can be purchased for under $80. For all HD movies that we produce, we deliver the footage in full 1080p resolution (the highest quality currently available). The quality of the footage is just amazing!
What cameras do you use?
We use different cameras for different portions of the wedding. We primarily shoot on the Canon 5D mark III, a professional-grade DSLR camera. We also shoot on the Panasonic HMC150 during certain parts of the wedding day. We capture all footage in 1080p24 mode (highest HD quality, recording at 24 progressive frames per second). This mode creates soft skin tones, better illumination during dimly lit receptions, and the highly sought-after look of “film” that makes our wedding films look so amazing.
Do you use extra microphones to capture sound?
You bet! We’re actually a little nuts about audio, but that’s why couples frequently tell us our films sound so great! The built-in microphones found on many cameras just aren't designed to capture sound at far distances, as sounds tend to bounce off walls and other objects before actually arriving at the camera. The result is muffled sound and poor quality dialogue. To overcome this, we place a microphone on every key person/group that will be speaking or performing during the event, thereby capturing audio at the source. Of course, these microphones are discrete so your guests won’t see them unless they try to find them! We use a variety of wireless lapel-worn lavaliere microphones, shotgun microphones for long-range pickup, and portable audio recorders for close-range pickup. How many microphones, you might ask? On a typical wedding, we’ll use 5-6 microphones for the ceremony and 4-5 microphones for the reception. No extra charge for this; we want the best quality audio!
What is a trueDEMO disc?
Every project includes our exclusive trueDEMO disc process. Approximately two to five months after your event (depending on complexity of your project), you will receive a "demo" disc of your project. The trueDEMO disc is a fully edited version of the footage, complete with opening titles, closing titles, and custom artwork on the disc face and the disc case. We ask that you examine the trueDEMO carefully, and inform us within three weeks of receipt of any changes that need to be made on the video. One round of changes is automatically included in the price of our services, but any substantial changes after the first round of changes may incur additional fees. The trueDEMO must be returned along with your final payment in order to receive your final discs. This process puts you in the director's seat. You have the ability to edit the footage and determine if any portions need to be removed or repaired. It's our approach to making sure you're absolutely satisfied with your project!
Are your discs archival-grade?
We use archival quality DVD-R and BD-R discs that are rated to last 100+ years in storage. This professional media is not available in electronic or computer stores such as Best Buy or Staples. All our custom artwork is printed directly on the disc using a specialized inkjet printing process (not a paper sticker that is adhered to the disc). The result is a high-definition, full-color image on the entire surface of the disc. Many clients agree that the quality of our printing exceeds what is normally seen on commercially screen-printed discs. It costs us more to use these professional grade discs, but we think the safety is worth it. You've worked hard to plan for your special day, and we want you to know that your Blu-rays and DVDs will survive the tests of time.
Are you insured?
Yes, True Focus Films carries full liability coverage.
How do I place a reservation for event videography services?
Just think “three”! Payments can be made in "thirds," as shown below: • 1/3 – Due at contract signing. • 1/3 – Due three (3) months prior to your wedding date. • 1/3 – Due three (3) weeks prior to your wedding date, at our last meeting when we go over final details of your day.
I can’t wait to book you! How do I reserve my date?
Just send us an email or give us a call. We typically respond within 24-hours to all messages/inquires and we’re looking forward to working with you on your wedding!
